As community bankers, we are proud to live, work, and play in our 30 Fidelity Bank & Trust communities. Now more than ever, we are here for our hometowns with an outpouring of support. After all, this isn’t just home to us, it’s home to ALL of us.
“Whether it be guiding our customers through relief resources, like the Paycheck Protection Program, or simply ordering takeout from our favorite local restaurants, the team at Fidelity Bank & Trust is working hard to support individuals, farmers and businesses across the communities we serve,” says Mindy Burds, Chief Operating Officer. “It is our passion to see them thrive and it is essential for us to be there to help them through these trying times.”
Here are a few ways the team at Fidelity Bank & Trust has stepped up to support our hometowns.
Communicating Key Information
“As your Hometown Bank, we know the importance of communicating information about relief programs and how they can work for our client’s businesses,” says Mindy. “Our staff is committed to the perseverance of our communities and has worked hard to process more than 850 applications for the Paycheck Protection Program. We have provided more than $55 million in forgivable loans to small businesses to encourage them to retain their employees during the coronavirus pandemic.”
Keeping Staff Involved
Jim Kennedy Jr., president of Fidelity Bank & Trust, has contributed $150,000 for staff to share in the 30 communities served by the financial institution.
“As an essential service in our hometowns, we are thankful for such dedicated employees to serve our customers during these unprecedented times,” says Kennedy. “We are all affected by this pandemic. Who better to help our local economies than our employees that live and work in their own communities? We are asking our employees to help family, friends, and local businesses. Every act of kindness has a ripple effect.”
Supporting Local Restaurants, Food Banks and Schools
At Fidelity Bank & Trust, markets have organized multiple group lunches for essential team members working at branches. We have partnered up with restaurants to offer discounts for community members to further support these small businesses.
Additionally, we are proud to actively support local food pantries and schools to assist in funding food programs or providing essential needs.
“It is very moving to hear what our bankers are doing in their hometowns,” says Kennedy. “We know our success is tied directly to the success of our customers and communities. Our hometowns are resilient, and we want to help get them through this trying time and will continue to be a part of the effort.”
Sharing Local Business Information
At Fidelity Bank & Trust, we recently started ‘Love Your Local’, a campaign focused on sharing local business information with those in our communities. We continue to promote these businesses during this time to further show our support. In May, keep an eye out for the next Love Your Local video, where we will feature our ag producers at work!
