Keeping your account safe and secure is our highest priority at Fidelity Bank & Trust. We are partnering with SHAZAM, our debit card processor, to implement additional authentication known as Mastercard Identity Check.

Beginning August 8, when you are making an online purchase with your debit card, you may be asked to identify yourself by entering a One-Time Passcode if the merchant participates in Mastercard Identity Check.  This One-Time Passcode will be sent via text message to the mobile phone number that you have on file with the bank.  Once received, you’ll enter this code on a checkout screen that contains SHAZAM’s logo.

If you enter the One-Time Passcode (OTP) incorrectly in the checkout screen, the transaction will not be authenticated. If you enter the OTP incorrectly three (3) times in a row, your card will be locked for online purchases at all Mastercard Identity Check merchants only.  An OTP lockout does not block the entire card.  If your card is blocked from a purchase because your identity cannot be verified with the OTP, you can still use your debit card at other places or use another card.  To remove the “OTP lockout” from your card, please contact Fidelity Bank & Trust.

What is Mastercard Identity Check?
This is an additional authentication measure Mastercard is implementing to keep your account safe and secure.

Who does this affect? 
All Mastercard cardholders, which includes Fidelity Bank & Trust debit cardholders.

How does this affect me?
You may be asked to identify yourself with a One-Time Passcode (OTP) sent via text message when making ONLINE purchases with your Fidelity Bank & Trust debit card (or other Mastercard branded cards).  If prompted, you MUST provide a valid OTP to complete your transaction.

Does this affect my in-store purchases?
No, the One-Time Passcode will only affect online purchases made with merchants participating in Mastercard Identity Check.

How do I receive the One-Time Passcode (OTP)?
The OTP will be sent to your mobile phone via text message.  Please make sure your mobile number is always current with your bank!

How do I update my mobile number?
Call Fidelity Bank & Trust at 800-403-8333 to update your mobile phone number on file. 

Where do I enter the One-Time Passcode (OTP)?
You will enter the OTP on the checkout screen where the Shazam logo is displayed.

My One-Time Passcode (OTP) is invalid at checkout – now what?
If your OTP failed once, verify it is correct and re-enter.  If your OTP fails three (3) times, contact Fidelity Bank & Trust to remove the “OTP lockout” from your card.
