Requirements for the scholarship are as follows:

  • Applicants must be a high school senior pursuing education at a two- or four-year college or vocational training.
  • Applicant must have a GPA of a ‘C’ or higher.
  • Applicants as well as a parent are not required to be a customer of Fidelity Bank & Trust.

Schwers says, “this year we will give out $18,000 for our scholarship program”, which will allow twenty eight high school seniors to receive a $500 scholarship.

Applications must include:

  • A short essay on why they should be considered for the scholarship.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • A school transcript.

“We also ask the applicant to list any extra-curricular and community activities that they were involved in”, says Schwers.

Schwers advocates, “it’s important, as a bank, to have a presence in the schools. We are available for financial literacy programs in the schools and are ready to teach the kids about the financial world. The scholarship program is a great way to show our support for education”, which gives support to high school seniors looking to pay for part of their college.

At Fidelity Bank & Trust, we want to give students the opportunity to advance their education and through the scholarship program we can show our support for education.
