NICC Donation 2024Contributes $100K To Northeast Iowa Community College

PEOSTA, IA (June 2024) – Fidelity Bank & Trust recently contributed $100,000 to Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC). $25,000 of the $100,000 donation will be set aside as an endowment for scholarships, allowing NICC to give a $1,000 perpetual scholarship to a student each year on behalf of Fidelity Bank & Trust. The remaining $75,000 will be going towards NICC’s funding campaign, and will be used in the NICC endowment that helps to fund high-priority initiatives for the College.  This includes short-term training certificates, training, upskilling and re-skilling workers for changing workforce needs, developing apprenticeship programs, and supporting online flexible learning opportunities.

“As Your Hometown Bank, we firmly understand the importance of education and creating a strong foundation for our next generation of leaders” said Bryan Vander Lee, President and CEO at Fidelity Bank & Trust. “Presenting as one of the NICC Foundation Scholarships, Fidelity is excited to be giving students the opportunity to pursue further education. We are honored to make this investment in Peosta and contribute to the academic efforts within the community,” added Vander Lee.

Northeast Iowa Community College, and its Foundation, strive to lessen students’ financial burden through scholarships. In 2023-2024, they awarded more than $12,081,260 in student aid to 73 percent of students.  This aid is comprised of loans, grants and other financial assistance programs, including nearly $400,000 in scholarships.
