DUBUQUE, IA (September 2023) – Madeleine Ambrose, Trust Operations Associate in Waverly, and Tom Lucas, Board Member of Fidelity Bank & Trust, were recently honored by the Iowa Bankers Association for more than 50 years of service. The award was presented to Ambrose and Lucas during the IBA Annual Convention on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023 in Des Moines. In addition, 20 other individuals were recognized for reaching the 50-year service milestone.
“Each year, it’s amazing to hear these bankers’ stories of dedication to their communities and the many relationships they formed throughout their 50-plus years of service. We’re honored to be able to celebrate the exemplary commitment and experience of Madeleine and Tom,” said IBA President and CEO John Sorensen. “This event allows us the opportunity to recognize these legendary bankers among their family and friends, and in an environment that highlights their accomplishments and dedication for our next generation of bankers.”
Madeleine Ambrose began her banking career in 1973 for the State Bank of Waverly, now known as Fidelity Bank & Trust. She has held many positions in her 50-year tenure, most notably in the Bookkeeping and Trust departments. Ambrose resides in Tripoli, IA where she raised her three children and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.
Tom Lucas joined Fidelity Bank & Trust in 1975 after beginning his banking career in 1969 at the First National Bank of Minneapolis. In 1991, Lucas became President of the Bank and joined the Board of Directors. He retired as President of Fidelity Bank & Trust in 2012, but continues to serve as a Board Member. Lucas resides in Dyersville, IA with his wife Ruth.
